We’ve got a new Breton Stripe Tee! And it’s got LEGS!!
There’s a new colour too – Beaujolais and Ecru – still with a traditional feel but fresh and a nice change from the classic navy or red.
Our long leg tees were inspired by George when he cut his front leg and wouldn’t stop licking, the positive feedback received at the time and the prospect of PJ’s being a must have this winter with the horrendous cost of heating, this long leg tee is going to be a new staple in our whippet wardrobe.
Recently George cut his front leg – a long gash down the length of it – he looked so sad with the cone we made him a tee shirt with one long leg to cover the wound. It stopped him licking and gave it time to heal. I was getting good feedback online so I thought why not try it with two legs!
We used our short leg jersey tee as a starting point and have extended the leg, with the odd tweak, to get the great fit expected of Redhound. We size tested them and gathered feedback. It was all positive so when I saw this fabric, I knew I wanted to add this fun item to our whippet’s wardrobe so why not yours?
- ‘would be good for woodland walks to protect an accident prone whippet’
- ‘useful on warm summer evenings when a fleece is too thick’
- ‘a good layer when going from summer to autumn’
- ‘useful to have for front body injuries’
- ‘great pair of PJ’s for lounging and sleeping’
- ‘easier to get on and off than I expected’
The fabric is a bit thicker than our Jersey tees with a little less give. If you choose the correct size the fit should be close but not tight. None of our size testers had issues getting them on and off but the second paw can be a bit of a fiddle, but if you get your hand in there to guide the foot through you should be fine.
It might not be suited to older dogs who aren’t comfortable getting the second leg in.
We’ve added to the standard sizes an XXS – this if for the really little Iggys – the 4-5 kg ones
If you have a 6-7kg Iggy the XS should work
The XL will fit up to a 23 kg lurcher and should still have some room.
This stylish tee can be worn solo or if you want to layer it here are a few suggestions:
Navy/Ecru – with a Navy or Dijon Fleece jumper over the top.
Red/Ecru – with a Red Norwich or Wiltshire coat for a cold day stroll.
Beaujolais/Ecru – with a Merlot Cosee over the top.
There are endless possibilities with this tee shirt for whippets and it’s going to be very useful for upper body injuries, minimizing deployment of the dreaded cone.
