The Fleece Gilet is here! Inspired by customers who wanted a fleece that was easier to put on elderly or injured dogs than our standard fleece jumpers, we have come up with this gem!
So, if your dog is struggling to get the second leg in, or maybe get the long neck over the head, this Fleece Gilet will be easier to put on and take off.
Currently available in 3 of our most popular colours, Charcoal, Olive and Navy – all neutrals – it can be worn layered or on its own.
Please note - as with all new items delivery might be up to 2 weeks - until we can get ahead with some stock made
The Fleece Gilet is designed to be worn over another layer for a close fit - it is not as long as our roll necks so that you can see a bit of the layer underneath. This gilet can be worn on its own but will then be a loose fit.
Fastened up underneath with metal poppers, you will need a compliant dog to get it done up, and KEEP it out of reach of dogs that like a chew, the poppers are metal.
It can be worn under a coat for extra warmth or around the house for comfy snoozes.
Fleece is such a useful fabric for whippets – warm, washable and soft to wear. It is cosy and loved by 1000’s of whippets around the world. Our roll neck jumpers are always going to be a staple in our whippets wardrobe, but I thought it would be good to have something that an older dog or maybe one with creaky bones could get on and off more easily.
So, what do you need to know about this new Fleece Gilet?
Sizing – if your dog is a medium in our Fleeces and Tees then a medium in this should fit. It works for George and Winnie.
Please note – the fit of the Olive one on Winnie is how it has been designed to fit, snug over another layer. You might prefer a looser fit such as Bertie in the Navy one, it is a personal preference.
